COLOMBO, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Four paratroopers suffered minor injuries on Tuesday during rehearsals for Independence Day celebrations, Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) spokesman Dushan Wijesinghe said.
Wijesinghe said the two paratroopers are from the Sri Lanka Air Force, while the other two are attached to the Sri Lanka Army.

Two of the paratroopers were injured when their parachutes entangled mid-air while performing an aerial acrobatic manoeuvre, he said.
Wijesinghe said the other two were injured when their parachutes failed to open.
They were undergoing treatment in hospitals in Colombo, he said.
Sri Lanka will celebrate its 76th Independence Day on Feb. 4. ■
