Andres Osorio from Colombia came to Shache, an ancient county in Xinjiang, and was deeply impressed by the performance of the Twelve Muqam in late autumn. In his eyes, the Twelve Muqam could be described as "Flamenco of the East," with a similar form of performance but a much longer history.
