KATHMANDU, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Four people died and three others sustained burn injuries in wildfires in Nepal in the past two days.
Two women from Panchthar district in the eastern part of the country succumbed to burn injuries on the way to Kathmandu for further treatment.
They were caught in a forest fire when they collected fodder with three others, local police said.
"The other three, including a child, are receiving treatment," Binalal Sah Teli, spokesman for district police, told Xinhua on Friday.
A man who was burnt severely while dousing a fire in a forest in Palpa district of central Nepal died on Thursday evening, according to local police.
Another man from Makawanpur district in central Nepal fell off a cliff while trying to extinguish a fire. His burnt body was found on Thursday, district police said in a statement. ■
