U.S. attempts to contain China won't work, says Jeffrey Sachs

BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. government has tried to contain China with tariffs, tech bans and investment restrictions for the past decade, but it doesn't work and it won't work, says Prof. Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University.

U.S. officials want America to be No. 1, but the people need everybody to succeed, according to the renowned economist and global development expert.

"China continues to make great advances, and this is very good for the world," he added.
