DAMASCUS, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Explosions were heard west of the Syrian capital of Damascus on Monday, according to eyewitnesses.
A building adjacent to the Iranian embassy in Damascus was destroyed, with smoke rising from the western Mazzeh neighborhood, according to eyewitnesses and a Xinhua reporter at the scene.
Meanwhile, Syria's state news agency SANA reported that the Israeli aggression targeted a building in the Mazzeh neighborhood, while the country's air defenses intercepted a foreign attack in the vicinity of Damascus, giving no further details yet. ■
