MOSCOW, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Russia's e-commerce sales volume surged 28 percent in 2023 from the previous year, according to data released by the Russian Association of Internet Trade Companies on Monday.
Russia's online trade volume amounted to 6.36 trillion rubles (about 69.8 billion U.S. dollars) last year, in comparison to 4.99 trillion rubles (about 54.7 billion U.S. dollars) in 2022, showed the data.
Cross-border online sales accounted for around 3 percent or 197 billion rubles (about 2.2 billion U.S. dollars) of the total volume of e-commerce sales.
The most popular category in Russia's e-commerce market is electronics and household appliances, constituting 18 percent of all online purchases.
Furniture and household goods, clothes and footwear, food, as well as beauty and health products were also among the top e-commerce categories. ■
