ULAN BATOR, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's total imports and exports expanded by 15 percent year on year to 24.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, official data showed Tuesday.
The Asian country registered a surplus of around 5.9 billion dollars in foreign trade balance, mainly due to a significant increase in the exports of mining products, according to data released by the country's National Statistics Office.
Mining products accounted for over 90 percent of the mineral-rich country's total exports last year, according to the agency.
The landlocked country traded with 163 economies worldwide in 2023. ■
