TOKYO, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- A suspicious object was found at the main gate of Japan's National Diet Building in Tokyo, and the police have dispatched its explosives disposal squad to investigate, local media reported Tuesday.
The report came in around 3:30 p.m. local time that the suspicious item which looked like a messenger bag was found at the main gate of the National Diet Building, Fuji News Network reported, citing investigators.
The suspicious object that was thrown in by someone was reportedly discovered by the security guard within the Diet, the country's parliament, the report said.
The Metropolitan Police Department has dispatched its explosives disposal squad to investigate, it added. ■
