BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- LDU Quito reached the Copa Sudamericana final by holding Defensa y Justicia to a goalless home draw in their semifinal second leg on Wednesday.
The Argentine outfit dominated possession and had 35 shots on goal but could not find a way past LDU Quito goalkeeper Alexander Dominguez.
The Ecuadorean side advanced by virtue of having won the first leg 3-0 in Quito last week.
LDU Quito will meet Brazilian side Fortaleza in the final of the continental tournament in the Uruguay city of Maldonado on October 28.
The Copa Sudamericana is South America's equivalent of the Europa League, with the champions earning an automatic berth in next year's Copa Libertadores. ■
