TOKYO, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Mori Building Co., Ltd., Japan's leading urban landscape developer, announced Tuesday that its redevelopment project Azabudai Hills will open in central Tokyo on Nov. 24 this year.

The new architecture Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower is located near the well-known landscape of Tokyo Tower, which is the tallest skyscraper in the county with an impressive height of about 330 meters.

Prior to the completion of the Azabudai Hills building, the tallest structure in Japan was the 300-meter Abeno Harukas located in Osaka.

Spanning an area of approximately 8.1 hectares, Azabudai Hills boasts 24,000 square meters of lush greenery, providing a total floor area of 861,700 square meters for diverse urban functions, including offices, residences, cultural and educational facilities, according to Mori Building.

The landscape developer seeks to foster the new multi-use complex into a "Green and Wellness" community where people live harmoniously with nature and lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

The newly constructed tower boasts 64 floors above ground and five underground levels. The upper floors are dedicated to upscale residences offering exclusive amenities such as a spa, provided by a renowned luxury hotel operator, according to the company.

Institutions and facilities due to open in the multi-use complex include the Keio University Center for Preventive Medicine, the British School in Tokyo, the Tokyo Venture Capital Hub and the Mori Building Digital Art Museum.

Some facilities will open gradually after December 2023, according to Mori Building.

The reign of the Azabudai Hills building as Japan's tallest will be short-lived, however, local media reports showed, as another developer Mitsubishi Estate Co. is currently constructing a skyscraper near Tokyo Station that is projected to reach a height of 390 meters by the fiscal year of 2027.
