LHASA, April 19 (Xinhua) -- With only one leg, an amateur rider from central China's Henan Province is on his bicycle challenge along the country's longest and highest national highway.
Sun started to ride along the G219 highway on Feb. 20, and is expected to complete the over 10,000-km journey in mid-June.
The journey began in Fangchenggang in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and is expected to end in the scenic area of Kanas in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Currently, Sun and his fellow riders are in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
During the past decade, Sun has succeeded in conquering some of the world's most complex and dangerous roads, and even rode to the base camp of Mount Qomolangma at an altitude of 5,200 meters above sea level.
Now, Sun is a father of two daughters and runs a hostel in his hometown with his wife. In the future, he plans to take the entire family on trips around the world.
