DUBLIN, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The accumulated amount of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ireland totaled 1.32 trillion euros (1.4 trillion U.S. dollars) as of the end of 2022, the country's Central Statistics Office (CSO) said on Friday.

This represents an increase of 89.2 billion euros or 7.24 percent compared with the end of 2021.

FDI income outflows, which represent income earned by foreign investors in Ireland, were 41.3 billion euros in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022, up 12 billion euros or 41 percent compared with the same period of 2021, it said.

Of the 41.3 billion euros in FDI income outflows in Q4 2022, 25.6 billion euros came from the manufacturing sector and 10.5 billion euros from the information and communications sector, with the remaining 5.2 billion euros from other sectors.

As of the end of last year, the accumulated amount of Ireland's direct investment abroad totaled 1.11 trillion euros, down 160 billion euros or nearly 13 percent compared with the end of 2021.(1 euro = 1.06 U.S. dollar)
