Hundreds of traditional dancers, drummers and decorated elephants participated in the magnificent procession as the street leading to the Gangaramaya temple was beautifully lit up.
Navam Perahera, usually celebrated on the full moon day during Navam (February), is considered as one of Sri Lanka's biggest Buddhist processions.
