AMMAN, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Jordanian king approved a reshuffle in the government of Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh on Thursday, a day after previous ministers submitted their resignation, according to a royal court statement.

The latest cabinet reshuffle involves 10 ministerial portfolios, in which Nasser Shraideh was appointed as deputy prime minister for economic affairs and minister of state for public sector modernization, Wajih Azaizeh as minister of political and parliamentary affairs, and Zeina Toukan as minister of planning and international cooperation.

The new ministers had been sworn in before the king, the statement said.

This is the fifth cabinet reshuffle under the government of Al-Khasawneh, who was officially appointed as Jordan's prime minister and minister of defense in a royal decree in October 2020.
