WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-six people, including children, were hospitalized after carbon monoxide leaked at a daycare center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Tuesday morning.
Emergency personnel responded to Happy Smiles Learning Center in Allentown just before 7 a.m. (1100 GMT).
Twenty-six children and teaching aides were rushed to hospitals nearby, where they are reportedly in stable condition.
Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas that can be fatal. ■
