YANGON, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's traditional Thadingyut festival starts on Oct. 9 this year. The three-day festival, also known as the lighting festival, is the second most popular festival in the Southeast Asian country after the traditional Thingyan water festival.

During the lighting festival, Buddhists hang lanterns at homes, workplaces and streets for decoration, and children play with toy lanterns in the streets.
