AMMAN, April 25 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan and U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday reiterated the importance of maintaining coordination to prevent the recurrence of violations in Jerusalem that may threaten regional peace, the Royal Hashemite Court said.
During a phone call Monday, they reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries to continuously work towards global and regional peace, according to a statement by the royal court.
The statement indicated that the king underscored the need to intensify efforts to realize a just and comprehensive peace that fulfills the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people based on the two-state solution.
Calling for respecting the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the king noted that Jordan continues its efforts to safeguard Islamic and Christian holy sites.
During the call, the two sides also discussed means to boost bilateral ties across all fields. ■
