HUANGSHAN, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Straw-woven dragon dance is a folk custom in Shuyuan Village, east China's Anhui Province, with a history of more than 300 years.

Straw-woven dragons with more than ten meters in length were handcrafted by local villagers for dragon dance performances to greet the day of Longtaitou, which literally means "dragon raises head".

Heralding the start of the spring plowing season, the Longtaitou Day, the second day of the second lunar month, falls on Friday this year. Villagers perform dragon dance to pray for harvest and auspiciousness.
