YANGON, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation (MTLF) here on Sunday organized a final trial event to select national boxers for upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

"It is the final selection of athletes for upcoming SEA Games in Cambodia," U Wunna, MTLF central executive committee member and head of Myanmar's traditional boxing team for the SEA Games, told Xinhua.

The federation already made a preliminary selection of 25 athletes for the SEA Games from a tournament last year, and they have trained together since then, he said.

14 athletes are taking part in the final trial, he said, adding that top competitors like Tun Tun Min and Yar Man, who are not included in the event, will be automatically selected for the SEA Games.

The federation will select 16 athletes for kickboxing and Muay Thai competitions in the upcoming SEA Games, he added.

The 32nd SEA Games is scheduled to be held in Cambodia in May this year.
