BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Cai Qi has urged Party organizations and members to take the lead in maintaining firm ideals and convictions, staying loyal to the Party, serving the people wholeheartedly, assuming responsibility and maintaining integrity.
Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Working Committee of the Central Party and State Institutions, made the remarks on Friday while addressing a ceremony honoring outstanding Party members, exemplary Party workers, and advanced grassroots Party organizations of central Party and state institutions.
A total of 123 outstanding CPC members, 126 exemplary Party workers, and 285 grassroots Party organizations of central Party and state institutions received honors at the event.
Cai urged Party organizations at all levels in central and state organs and Party members to study the speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, on July 1st marking the Party's 105th founding anniversary, and Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building.
Xi's speech is profound in thought and rich in substance, and sets out clear requirements for all Chinese Communists to strengthen confidence and continue their efforts on the new journey, he noted.
Cai called for efforts to build on the effective practices of Party building in Party and state organs in the new era, improve the institutional framework, ensure the fulfillment of primary responsibilities, and enhance the overall quality for Party building in Party and state organs.
He also urged leading Party members groups or Party committees of all departments to fulfill their political responsibility of Party self-governance, and solidly carry out the Party-wide education campaign on establishing and practicing a correct understanding of what it means to perform well. ■
