JAKARTA, July 15 (Xinhua) -- A decision on tariff negotiations between Indonesia and the United States was expected to be announced in August, Indonesia's Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti said on Monday, while highlighting the importance of seeking trade access with other partners.
"Please wait for next month. We will see what the decision will be, or whether there will be any changes," she told the parliament. The upcoming announcement will indicate whether any adjustments to the U.S. government's decision regarding a 32 percent reciprocal tariff on Indonesia will be made.
Dyah also affirmed that Indonesia remained committed to further negotiations. "Again, we are prioritizing negotiation and communication," she noted.
She also highlighted the importance of Indonesia's continued efforts to open trade access with other trading partners.■
