BISHKEK, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Kyrgyzstan totaled 709.9 million U.S. dollars in the first half of 2026, up 26.2 percent year on year, Adylbek Aleshovich Kasymaliev, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, said Wednesday.

Speaking at an administrative meeting, Kasymaliev said investment inflows increased across several sectors, including manufacturing, which rose 21.3 percent; mining, 7.1 percent; wholesale and retail trade, 57.6 percent; financial intermediation and insurance, 5.9 percent; professional, scientific and technical activities, 17.7 percent; and information and communications, 19.5 percent.

Meanwhile, Kasymaliev said the number of tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan in the January-June period increased nearly 1.4-fold year on year to 1.9 million. Gross value added generated by the tourism sector was estimated at 34.1 billion soms (about 390 million dollars), up 26.7 percent from the same period in 2025.

He also noted strong performance in the execution of the revenue portion of the republican budget during the first nine months of 2026.

"Republican budget revenues totaled 608.1 billion soms, exceeding the projected figure by 22.7 billion soms. The target was fulfilled by 103.9 percent. Revenues collected by the State Tax Service amounted to 259.8 billion soms, reaching 103.6 percent of the target, while revenues collected by the State Customs Service totaled 139 billion soms, achieving 104.6 percent of the target," Kasymaliev said.
