NAGOYA, Japan, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Sailor Bi Kun will carry the Chinese delegation's flag at the closing ceremony of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Sunday.

Bi defended his men's windsurfing title at the Games, adding to his gold medals at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games and the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

"Being the flag bearer at the closing ceremony is a great honor and has always been a dream of mine," Bi said. "When I received the news, I was extremely excited. I felt even happier than when I won the three consecutive titles."

Bi said he hopes his success can draw more attention to sailing and windsurfing in China, where the sport remains relatively niche.

"I also hope more people can take me as an example and surpass me, and in the future, they can also fight for their country," he said.

"I will strive for a Los Angeles Olympics qualification spot and keep pushing forward," he said.

The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday evening.  ■
