BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will attend the opening ceremonies of the WorldSkills Competition and the Global Digital Trade Expo at China's invitation, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced Tuesday.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Aleshovich Kasymaliev, will also attend the opening ceremony of the Global Digital Trade Expo, the spokesperson said.
The 48th WorldSkills Competition will be held in Shanghai from September 22 to 27, while the fifth Global Digital Trade Expo will take place in Hangzhou, the provincial capital of Zhejiang in east China, from September 23 to 27.
Asked at a regular media briefing the same day about China's view of the current China-Malaysia relationship and its expectations for Anwar's upcoming visit, spokesperson Guo Jiakun said the visit reflects close and friendly relations between China and Malaysia, as well as sound cooperation in relevant fields.
Guo said China and Malaysia are good neighbors, good friends and good partners, adding that during more than 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Malaysia relations have maintained sound momentum of development, with progress made in cooperation across various fields.
The two countries are working together to build a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future, Guo added.
"China looks forward to further deepening the alignment of development strategies with Malaysia, advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, strengthening communication and coordination on international and regional issues, and achieving more outcomes in building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future," Guo said. ■
