BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Commerce issued a preliminary ruling in its anti-dumping probe into pecan imports from Mexico and the United States on Monday, finding that the products were dumped in the Chinese market and caused material injury to domestic producers.
The probe began on September 25, 2025. The ministry said it followed China's anti-dumping laws and World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, and adhered to principles of fairness, impartiality, openness, and transparency.
The ministry has decided to impose provisional anti-dumping measures. It ruled that dumping margins for Mexican companies range from 17.8 percent to 51.6 percent. With no U.S. companies participating in the probe, the ministry set a dumping margin of 54.3 percent for all American firms in accordance with Chinese laws and WTO rules.
China exercises prudence and restraint in the use of trade remedy measures and remains committed to fair and free trade, the ministry said.
China will continue the investigation in accordance with the law, fully safeguard the rights of all interested parties, and issue an objective and fair final ruling based on the investigation results, the ministry added. ■
