NAIROBI, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- After graduating from Beijing Jiaotong University with a degree in communication engineering, Zhou Junbing joined the Africa Star Railway Operation Company at the age of 27, dedicating himself to the operation of Kenya's Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and quickly becoming a key member of the team responsible for maintaining and supporting its communication system.
The railway stretches 472 km, linking the port city of Mombasa in the southeastern part of the country with the capital city, Nairobi. It is the first modern railway constructed in Kenya since independence and stands as a key achievement of China-Kenya cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
