BELGRADE, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Through a panoramic and multi-dimensional presentation, a photo exhibition at the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade offers visitors a vivid glimpse into the ironclad friendship and fruitful cooperation between China and Serbia.
Titled "Let the Light of Ironclad Friendship Illuminate the Road of China-Serbia Cooperation -- A Photo Exhibition of the Friendship Between the Chinese and Serbian People," the exhibition features around 70 photographs, capturing memorable moments of friendly exchanges and major achievements in bilateral cooperation.
Together, the photographs illustrate how the friendship between the two countries has deepened over more than seven decades and continues to flourish with renewed vitality in the new era.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic attended the exhibition's opening ceremony and strolled through the hall on a guided tour, stopping frequently to examine the photographs.
"Great photos," he remarked more than once during the visit.
At the section highlighting key milestones in the history of China-Serbia relations, Vucic reflected on a number of important occasions he had personally participated in or witnessed.
"These photographs preserve precious historical memories," he said.
In another section dedicated to bilateral cooperation, images of landmark projects such as the Budapest-Belgrade railway, Smederevo Steel Plant, and the Danube Corridor fast road attracted considerable attention. Many visitors paused to take pictures with their mobile phones.
Speaking with Xinhua after touring the exhibition, Vucic said the exhibition "speaks not only about our past, but also about the present time and mainly about our common future."
"Our ironclad friendship is the common denominator for both countries in the future," he said.
Among the visitors was Jelena Curafic, a Serbian Ph.D. student who has studied and lived in China for nearly a decade.
"The exhibition deeply moved me," she said. "It allowed me to see the development of our friendship over the years and to appreciate both its historical depth and its promising future."
Curafic noted that in recent years, an increasing number of young Serbians have shown interest in learning more about China and visiting the country.
"Many of my friends often ask me about China's development and changes, and they are eager to know whether there are opportunities to study or participate in exchange programs there," she said.
Aleksandar Mitic, a senior research fellow at the Institute of International Politics and Economics, a Serbian think tank, told Xinhua that the exhibition carries special significance as this year marks the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Serbia and China.
Biljana Separovic, multimedia editor-in-chief of Serbia's Tanjug News Agency and host of the opening ceremony, said the photographs vividly reflected the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
"What always fascinates me the most is the hospitality our people show, which is visible in the photographs," she said. "It is something that best shows the respect that we have for each other."
Separovic, who visited Beijing in 2018, said she looks forward to returning to China and seeing more of the places featured in the exhibition.
The exhibition will run for one month. It was co-hosted by the Xinhua News Agency Europe Regional Bureau, the Chinese Embassy in Serbia, and China Photo Service Co., Ltd., and jointly organized by the Xinhua News Agency Belgrade Bureau and the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade.■
