BEIRUT, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Celebrations took hold across Beirut on early Friday after a 10-day truce agreed between Israel and Lebanon began on Friday morning.
The ceasefire, which came into effect after weeks of escalation, has been met with relief by many residents, though concerns remain about its fragility.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said Friday that the current phase is critical and requires consolidated national responsibility.
