China is accelerating its northward push, positioning the new Inner Mongolia FTZ as a key global trade gateway. Spanning nearly 120 sq km across Hohhot, Manzhouli, and Erenhot, it sits on the Russia-Mongolia border and connects both China-Europe rail corridors, giving it significant logistical leverage. Officials aim to boost openness, industry, and cross-border cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, turning the region into a Eurasian trade hub.
