
BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) -- In March 1959, people in Xizang launched a democratic reform that ended the region's feudal serfdom and freed a million serfs. Former serfs ushered in the dawn as they got land, cattle, sheep, and life headed towards a new beginning.
With social stability, economic prosperity, thriving cultures and religious harmony, today's Xizang Autonomous Region in southwest China demonstrates unprecedented progress in human rights.
