Thailand, Cambodia have agreed to cease all shooting effective Friday evening

U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday on social media that Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to cease all shooting effective Friday evening.

"I had a very good conversation this morning with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, and the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, concerning the very unfortunate reawakening of their long-running War," Trump said on Truth Social, adding that both countries are ready for peace and continued trade with the United States.

Trump said that Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to go back to the original peace accord he brokered earlier this year with the help of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

EU temporarily bans transfers of Russian central bank assets
The Council of the European Union (EU) on Friday decided to temporarily prohibit any transfers of immobilized assets belonging to the central bank of Russia within the bloc back to Russia, citing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

"This decision was taken as a matter of urgency to limit damage to the Union's economy," the Council said in a statement.

The measure bans any direct or indirect transfer of assets or reserves of the central bank of Russia, as well as transactions involving "any legal person, entity or body acting on behalf of, or at the direction of, the central bank of Russia," according to the statement.

Security advisors of Ukraine, U.S., Europe discuss peace plan

National security advisors of Ukraine, the United States and European countries held a video conference on Friday to discuss a peace plan to end the crisis, Ukraine's top peace negotiator Rustem Umerov said on Telegram.

"We discussed further alignment of positions, security issues, and the next steps in advancing the peace plan," said Umerov, secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.

He noted that preparations are underway in Europe to launch a working group focused on security guarantees for Ukraine.

Yemeni gov't, Houthis resume detainee talks in Oman: source

A new round of talks between Yemen's internationally recognized government and the Houthi group on the release of detainees began on Friday in the Omani capital, Muscat, a government official told Xinhua.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said representatives from both sides had resumed discussions under UN auspices, with support from Saudi Arabia and other Arab states.

The talks, expected to last several days, will focus on the release of detainees held by both parties. The official said early signs were positive, raising hopes for progress on a long-standing humanitarian issue.
