Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Malaysia will boost bilateral ties and set the course for the next 50 years, says Dato' Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, President of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association and former Malaysian ambassador to China.
The visit, set for April 15 to 17, follows last year's 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations -- a milestone moment for both sides.
The veteran diplomat adds that as global trade faces disruptions from U.S. tariffs, ASEAN must act with unity. "This time, we are better off in the sense that we have China as our strong partner."
