BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) announced the individual award winners for the 2024-2025 regular season on Wednesday, with the Zhejiang Lions' star Hu Jinqiu being named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the second time in his career after 2021-2022 season.

Besides Hu's MVP honor, the Lions' head coach Wang Bo was recognized as the Best Coach of the season, guiding his team to a dominant 39-7 record that crowned it as regular season champion. Adding to the team's accolades, Sun Minghui was named as the Best Defensive Player, showcasing the team's strength on both ends of the court.

The Shanghai Sharks' foreign standout Kenneth Lofton took home the Best International Player award. Lofton, who appeared in 34 regular season games, averaged 25.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.6 blocks in 32.3 minutes per game. His stellar performance was pivotal in lifting Shanghai from a mid-season slump to a remarkable 16-game winning streak, ultimately securing the team's position in tenth place.

In additional honors, the Beijing Ducks' Zeng Fanbo was recognized as the Most Improved Player. The Guangdong Southern Tigers' Ren Junfei captured the Best Sixth Man award, while the Qingdao Eagles' Yang Hansen was named as the Best Young Player of the Year.
