On Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping awarded the Friendship Medal of China, China's highest state honor for foreigners, to his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon during a visit to Tajikistan. The ceremony at the presidential palace in Dushanbe marked the first time that the award was given outside of China.
