GLOBALINK | First-person view: Electrical workers inspect power transmission line over Yangtze River

WUHU, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Stretching 2,080 kilometers, the ±800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission line between southwest China's Sichuan Province and east China's Jiangsu Province spans the Yangtze River here in Anhui. As a critical part of China's west-to-east power transmission project, this line annually transmits over 30 billion kWh of clean power.

Electrical workers of Anhui Electric Power Transmission & Transformation Co., Ltd. inspected the line section across the Yangtze River to secure its operation. In nearly three hours, these workers climbed up and moved along the cables for more than 2 kilometers at a maximum height of 278.2 meters.
