SINGAPORE, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Changi Airport handled 58.9 million passenger movements in 2023, representing 86 percent of the traffic volume in 2019, according to the annual report released by the airport Wednesday.
The airport recorded 328,000 landing and taking-off last year, compared to 382,000 in 2019.
Changi Airport's top five passenger markets in 2023 were Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand and India. The Chinese mainland held the sixth among Changi's top 10 markets with nearly 4 million passenger movements.
Despite the recovery in passenger movements, airfreight throughput of the airport dropped 6 percent year-on-year against a volatile global economic environment, standing at 1.74 million tons for 2023. ■
