QINZHOU, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Pinglu Canal is a flagship project on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, an important trade and logistics passage jointly built by provincial-level regions in western China and ASEAN members. The canal, stretching over 134.2 kilometers with an estimated investment of 72.7 billion yuan (about 9.88 billion U.S. dollars), aims to link the Xijiang River, a major waterway in southwest China, with ports in the Beibu Gulf.
