CHENGDU, July 18 (Xinhua) -- There are 10 days to go before the Chengdu 2021 Summer Universiade opens. The sporting events of the Universiade will take place in 27 competition venues, a combination of brand new structures and existing ones.
Here, let's take a look at some of the venues, as well as the Universiade Village that the athletes will call home during their stay in Chengdu.
Hongyi Gymnasium, Sichuan Vocational and Technical College of Communications

Hongyi Gymnasium, Sichuan Vocational and Technical College of Communications covers a floor area of 8,895 square meters. One field of play (FoP) and one warm-up area are provided. The size of FoP is 35mx28m and the net height is 28.3 meters.
The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for volleyball events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The volleyball events will be held from July 29 to August 7, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.
Xihua University Gymnasium

Xihua University Gymnasium has a floor area of 8,837 square meters, with one field of play (FoP) and one warm-up area. The size of FoP is 43mx26m and the net height is 18 meters.
The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for volleyball during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The volleyball events will be held from July 29 to August 7, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.
Sichuan Gymnasium

Sichuan Gymnasium covers an area of 36,437.63 square meters, with a total floor area of 24,900 square meters. The size of field of play (FoP) is 39mx26m and the net height is 14 meters.
The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for basketball during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The basketball events will be held from July 28 to August 6, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.
Sichuan International Tennis Center

Sichuan International Tennis Center has one court for finals, two courts for semifinals, six outdoor courts, eight indoor back-up courts, one indoor back-up court for finals and eight training courts.
It will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for tennis during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The tennis events will be held from July 29 to August 6, with a total of seven gold medals to be awarded. ■
