SAO TOME ISLAND, July 18 (Xinhua) -- China and Sao Tome and Principe resumed diplomatic ties in December 2016. Shortly after, a team of four Chinese agricultural experts arrived at the launch of a Chinese agricultural technical support project in the island nation, one of the least developed countries listed by the United Nations. In 2021, Caldeiras Village was designated as the first demonstration village for agricultural development and poverty alleviation. Altogether 79 households in the village have received well-directed technical aids from China.
