   BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) -- The following pictures are aerial views from high in the sky depicting China's efforts to improve people's livelihoods.


Ygyat mountain road

   Location: Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, Xinjiang

   Caption: A 36-km road, completed in May 2019, winds around mountains at an elevation of 4,100 meters on the Pamirs. It opens up the outside world to local farmers and herdsmen.


New settlement in Yaoshan

   Location: Libo County, Guizhou

   Caption: The largest-ever migration in Yaoshan took place from 2017 to 2019, moving 1,045 members of the ethnic minority of Yao to the county. This was part of China's achievement in lifting the country's poor rural residents out of poverty.


Tibetan medicine hospital in Nagqu

   Location: Nagqu City, Tibet

   Caption: A rehabilitation center for the elderly in high-altitude areas, the first of its kind in China.


The 18th Primary School in Kashgar

   Location: Kashgar, Xinjiang

   Caption: A primary school in Kashgar that is famous for its football education program. Built under the aid of the city of Shenzhen, the school boasts a soccer field with artificial turf, offering more possibilities for children in the area who have dreams of playing football.


Yanbao-Baiwan Community

   Location: Chaoyang District, Beijing

   Caption: A public rental housing complex in Beijing. The buildings, with a garden design, have 4,000 apartments to lease at affordable prices to those who do not own property in the city.


Meixi Lake culture art center

   Location: Changsha, Hunan

   Caption: A 120,000-square-meter art center. The building complex, winning gold in the London Design Awards 2020, is a place where local citizens entertain and enjoy the arts.  Enditem
