HONG KONG, April 13 (Xinhua) -- John Lee, former chief secretary for administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, on Wednesday submitted the completed nomination forms in person to the returning officer for election of the HKSAR's sixth-term chief executive.
When meeting the press, Lee said he had submitted 786 nomination forms by Election Committee members, and expects to complete and unveil his political platform as soon as possible.
He said he is pragmatic and prudent in mapping out the measures and vision to ensure they can materialize.
Candidates for the office of the chief executive shall be nominated by not less than 188 members of the Election Committee, of which the number of members from each of the five Election Committee sectors should not be less than 15.
Since announcing to run for the election on April 9, Lee and his campaign team have visited various organizations and contacted Election Committee members to elaborate on his policy ideas.
The election will be held on May 8. The nomination period for the election is April 3-16.
