HOHHOT, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- The border city of Manzhouli in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region reported five locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases Tuesday, local authorities said.
The five patients are from the same family, and the sub-district they lived has been upgraded as a medium-risk area for COVID-19 starting from Tuesday.
The new cases were found during the city's routine nucleic acid testing for key groups. The patients have been sent to a designated hospital for medical treatment. Further epidemiological investigations are underway.
Starting from 8 a.m. Tuesday, the border city has enforced traffic control measures and suspended bus, taxi, air and railway passenger services. The city has launched a citywide mass testing campaign, said the local health authorities. ■
