RIYADH, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo 2022 is taking place in Saudi Arabia's desert arena, which lies close to the ancient site of Hegra, the kingdom's first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Organised by the Royal Commission for AlUla in partnership with the Saudi Polo Federation, the event attracts four teams, which are a mix of invited patrons and professional players drawn from the global and Saudi polo community.
This event is the only modern polo tournament in the world to be staged in a desert environment, according to the organizer.
