KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The construction of a school has been completed in Kandahar city, the capital of Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province, Mawlawi Qudratullah Wasal, head of the province's education department, said Tuesday.
"Built at a cost of more than 334,000 U.S. dollars ... the school has 12 classrooms, administrative offices and sports ground for boys and girls to get an education there," the provincial official told Xinhua.
The girl students can get an education at the school until grade 6, he added.
In another development, the state-run news agency Bakhtar reported that the construction of a two-story school building was completed in the eastern Wardak province recently.
