BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Cairo, located at the southern tip of the Nile Delta in northeastern Egypt, is the capital of the country. It serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of Egypt. Cairo is also one of the oldest cities in the world.
