BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Peking opera has a history of over 200 years and was designated by UNESCO as a world intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2010. It combines various art forms such as singing, reciting, acting, and martial arts. The Beijing-based Nichangyayun opera culture studio is an active supporter of the Peking Opera's preservation and promotion. Si Xianwei, the studio's founder, appears in a series of special makeup photos to mark China's Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which falls on June 11 this year. Each of these pictures depicts one of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals. Any idea what they are? Make your guesses!
