RAMALLAH, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian presidency spokesman said on Monday that applying to the United Nations (UN) and other international agencies is a "legitimate right for everyone under legitimate international resolutions."

Nabil Abu Rudeineh made the remarks in response to Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid's statements, in which he said that "the way to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict does not pass through the corridors of the UN or other international institutions."

Abu Rudeineh said that the continuous Israeli attempts to disdain international legitimacy "pose a challenge to the world and to all countries whose goal is to preserve the rights of all peoples around the world."

The spokesman stressed that Palestine "has the right to resort to international legitimacy and international law," adding that "the Palestinian people and their leadership will not give up their rights guaranteed by international legitimacy and international law."

Earlier, Lapid announced that he had instructed the preparation of a series of security and political tools to respond to the Palestinians' movements.

His decision was made following the adoption by the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly of a draft Palestinian resolution requesting a legal advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the Israeli occupation.

The Palestinians demand establishing a Palestinian state on the territories occupied by Israel in 1967, including the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem as its capital.
