OTTAWA, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and at least 19 others injured on Thursday in a multi-vehicle collision involving two city transit buses in Calgary, western Canada, local media reported.
Police said emergency crews responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 800 block of Saddletowne Circle N.E. shortly after 1 p.m. local time (1900 GMT).
The incident involved two Calgary Transit buses and six other vehicles. Ten people were transported to local hospitals, including one person with life-altering injuries, CTV News reported.
According to the report, a bus traveling northbound first collided with a white vehicle, which subsequently struck a black vehicle. The white vehicle then hit a cube van before crashing into a second bus. The impact pushed the second bus across the street, where it collided with three additional vehicles and caught fire. ■
