Urgent: U.S. adds less nonfarm jobs in Sept. with unemployment rate ticking up

NEW YORK, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- U.S. nonfarm payrolls increased by 29,000 in September, down from 133,000 in the previous month, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Friday.

Meanwhile, U.S. unemployment rose to 4.2 percent in September, up from 4.1 percent in the previous month. ■
