U.S. PCE inflation measure jumps by 4.1 percent

WASHINGTON, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure hit a three-year high in May, government data showed on Thursday, with elevated energy prices rippling through the economy.

The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) prices index jumped 4.1 percent from a year ago, the Commerce Department said, up from 3.8 percent in April.
